Subject	cleaning throttle bodies

Message	I'm cleaning my TB's and had a question about the butterflies. There appears to be "stuff" for the lack of a better term around the edges of the butterfly. It's greyish and definitely has texture. Is it something that's supposed to be there like teflon or silicone to help seal the TB or is it just buildup? I looked at several other TB's that I have and they are roughly the same. Sorry, I'm not with them or I'd post a pic :)
